Project Story

This Semiahmoo home already had strong architectural presence, but the driveway and front entry did not reflect the quality of the property. The homeowner wanted a more refined, welcoming exterior that would elevate curb appeal and better match the character of the house.

Our team walked through several driveway options with the client, including new concrete, stamped concrete, asphalt, and pavers. After reviewing durability, appearance, and budget considerations, pavers stood out as the best fit. We then fine-tuned the selection to align with the home’s style and the surrounding landscape.

Because the driveway slopes toward the home, drainage was a major consideration. In addition to the permeability of the paver system, we upgraded the existing drainage with a heavy-duty channel drain spanning 30 feet wide by 5 inches, helping direct water away from the house during heavy Pacific Northwest rain events.

The existing concrete driveway was removed and responsibly recycled before the base was regraded and rebuilt. Belgard Dublin Cobble driveway pavers in the Victorian color blend were installed to create a polished yet timeless look, combining cool gray tones with warmer beige hues. The three-piece pattern and medium joint spacing support water permeability while adding visual depth.

To further refine the front approach, the entryway received a porcelain overlay using Belgard Quartiziti 2.0 in the Waterfall color. Exposed edges were finished with Belgard Unico for a clean, cohesive appearance. Low-voltage FX lighting completed the update, adding warmth and visibility after dark. A gravel walkway using the homeowner’s natural stone improved access to a lower lawn area on the sloped property.
